GrowingChange Collaboration: North Carolina Incarceration History

This traveling exhibition is part of a larger collaboration with GrowingChange, a youth-led community organization that is transforming a former chain-gang-era prison into a farm in Wagram, North Carolina. The project aims to bring audiences into dialogue about the problem of mass incarceration through engaging with the story of Wagram prison camp and the people who experienced it.

In the top center, Scotland County Commissioner Betty Gholston is pointing to an image of her family members who worked for the prison superintendent in Wagram.
