Ruth Wicker Tribute to the Women of Greensboro

Commissioned by the Department of Parks and Recreation of the City of Greensboro, this exhibition honors past and present women leaders of Greensboro and invites visitors to consider the amazing women in their lives. A touchscreen interactive in the center of the gallery of the Barber Park Event Center features clips and quotes from oral histories with living women leaders and offers the city the opportunity to add more honorees over time.

Scaffold undertook outreach to the wider Greensboro community and facilitated the nomination of over 100 women to be included in the first round of honorees as part of a community-based research process. We interviewed a multiracial group of 20 women, whose stories can be read and voices can be heard as part of the exhibit experience.
